The Short Version
These calculators are educational instruments. They produce estimates. They are not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your specific situation, and no output from these tools creates a professional-client relationship. Verify anything material with someone whose job it is to be right about your case.
Financial Calculators
The finance calculators (mortgage, loan, compound interest, debt payoff, savings, ROI, FIRE, freelancer tax, side hustle, DCA, and any others in the same category) produce mathematical results based on the numbers you enter. They do not know your credit score, your local tax code, your existing debts, your income volatility, your risk tolerance, or the specific terms a lender or advisor would offer you. Outputs are estimates for planning purposes only — not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Verify with a licensed financial planner, tax professional, or advisor before making a decision that turns on the number.
Tax & Withholding Calculators
Any tool that displays tax rates or brackets uses published rate data for a specific tax year, labeled in the interface. Actual withholding depends on your W‑4 elections, state and local taxes, pre-tax deductions, and prior-year information the tool does not have. Estimates are not a substitute for a prepared return.
Insurance Calculators
Insurance estimates (life, term vs. whole, disability, auto) are for education only. They are not quotes, and they do not account for underwriting decisions or premium factors specific to you. Consult a licensed agent for coverage decisions or a real quote.
Health & Wellness Calculators
Health calculators (BMI, TDEE, macros, BMR, body fat, ideal weight, water intake, and similar) produce general-information estimates. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Individual health depends on factors these calculators cannot see. Consult a healthcare provider before acting on any output.
Construction & Materials Estimators
Material-quantity estimators (concrete, paint, flooring, lumber, fence posts, wallpaper, drywall, tile, gravel, mulch, shingles, and similar) compute typical quantities from the dimensions and options you provide. They do not account for site conditions, waste factors specific to your project, local building codes, or engineering requirements. Verify quantities before purchasing and consult a qualified contractor or engineer for structural or code questions. These tools do not perform structural or engineering analysis.
Data Vintage
Calculators that depend on dated inputs (tax brackets, exchange rates, LLM API prices) display the vintage of their reference data in the interface. Rates change; the tool may lag reality. Confirm current rates against a primary source before making a decision that depends on them.
No Warranty
The tools are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no guarantee that any calculator is free of error, that its formulas are correct in every jurisdiction, or that any specific input will produce a specific output. You use the tools at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moonlit Social Labs and its author are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of these tools or reliance on their output. You assume all responsibility for decisions you make on the basis of anything a calculator here says. If your jurisdiction does not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain liabilities, this limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted.
